Note Pad Holder

I just love Heartfelt Creations paper, dies, and stamps. Wish I could have every part of every line. However I must live in the real world. Recently I went to the Scrapbook convention in Arlington, Texas and picked up the Coffee Talk line, such great colors, love it.
That being said, on to the project. Let me first start by saying this is not my idea. I follow So Much Scrap,  She posted this tutorial, all instructions are clear and complete. She gives tips on how to sew your paper. Truth be told I used to sew on my cards often then got out of that. Kathy has renewed my desire to sew on paper, it's just a lovely finished look. This is the front of the "book", using bits of the coffee talk paperline. Using the die  I cut out the stack of coffee cups and used pop dots for some dimension. The spoon was also die cut and covered with glossy accents. The scrap of note was fussy cut and inked, everything was inked with Primas' Dark Rust chalk ink. I do like inking with the Prima chalk inks do to the shape of the pad. It makes it easy, for me, to ink wonky edges. The lock was part of a kit from Flying Unicorn last year  or so and the post is from Hobby Lobby.
Using a role of burlap from my stash helped decorate the spine, Along with beads, stained crinkle ribbon, and a tag made into a charm from the paper collection.

Inside: the paper pad, I picked up from Michaels dollar fifty bin, is held in place by a pocket. The pen held by the same burlap. On the top left is a flip up that will hold a note or two by magnets.

The bottom left is a cute little "box" that holds cards. These are 3.5 x 3.25 cut from, again, the collection. They each have a stamp from the collection in varying corners. Write a note to someone on this, and they are sure to keep track of it.
Now finally, I didn't have exactly the same tools that Kathy used. So when making the front of the box I had to adjust the process. I used my Spellbinders Edge Dies 1 for all my edging. Since I needed only to edge out the center of this box I made a 1/2 cut on either side. Slide my die where it needed to be and ran it trough my die cut machine.
The result you can see above all the right parts are cut and I was still able to make the box properly.
I hope you go and check out the video and have fun making your own note pad "betterfied".

Cheers.
